5 ways to transform the Philippines into a firs-world contry using the internet and information technology

When you hear the name of the country, Philippines, or the word Filipinos what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Some will say that it's a third-world country. Some will say that it's among the top ten of the most corrupted countries all-over the world, a place where they like to eat undeveloped duck eggs but there'll be some who will say that it's a country that has a booming BPO companies and the information technology industry. A country that is attractive to foreign countries because of the mere number of it's population, cheap labor costs, and the Filipino trait of being hospitable and hard-working. This being said, here are five ways to transform Philippines into a First-World Country through the use of the internet as well as information technology.

1. Take advantage of the booming BPO companies, call-center, and the telemarketing industry.
In about two to three years time, call-centers have been sprouting here and there. There's a lot of foreign companies outsourcing here in the Philippines, one is Dell, then there is Accenture, Hewlett-Packard services , Intel, and a lot more. There're also local companies that are now into BPO's and outsourcing at call centers. there is ePLDT, Meralco, Level-Up! Inc., as well as Globe and Smart Telecoms. The list goes on and on, new companies are also constantly penetrating the country.

We can see here that now and further into the future that there'll be lots of employment possibilities for the unemployed, one doesn't even have to have a degree. Being able to finish at least 2-years of college and is fluent in the English language is sufficient enough. With employment, there will be income, meaning that the Filipino's way of living will improve.

2. INFORMATION technology.
Since the birth of the internet in the 1900's information exchange has improved exponentially. During the old-times, we need to send carrier pigeons, snail mail, messengers, and Morse codes to deliver information. This can be costly, time-consuming and unreliable.
Nowadays, information is just a click away. Within minutes, you can access valuable information and send messages instantly. This is really beneficial economically. Through the internet and IT, companies here in the Philippines can innovate, new jobs will be available and it'll be a lot easier to apply with online registrations going on. Also, buyers and sellers are easily connected, so the Philippine market will expand resulting in higher profits that can lead to improvement in the way of living.

3. The current leaders of the countries.

One of the problems of the Philippines is the election of government officials. As what we saw in the recent US elections, it only took them a day to have the result. Here in the Philippines, it will take us days or maybe weeks just to get the results. The Americans were able to accomplish this through the use of the internet and IT. during the campaign period, information was easy to access with the internet, you can see the political parties' plans and propagandas, different types of media was available that help get them votes and during the actual voting, they use high-technology voting machines that instantly receives, saves, and sends information to voters.

If this sort of election is present in the Philippines, then improvement may be in sight. the election will be a lot safer because no one has to get hurt while protecting the ballots. It will be valid and reliable because you can't cheat the computer that easily, flying voters will be lessen, repetition will not be present, and lastly it will be a whole lot faster because the transfer of information will be instantaneous and wide spread. Back-ups will also be readily available. This may help us vote the right officials for the job.

4. The next generations of leaders.

With the internet easing the exchange of information, students, the future of our country will also have an easier time studying and learning. Professors will have access to useful information that they can't have before. They can share them to their students. Nowadays, students will learn more not just from school but also with other people through the internet

5. Build better relationships with foreign countries.

With the presence of new technologies and the internet, the Philippines can build better relationships with other countries. Through information exchange, different problems whether domestic of foreign will be a lot easier to solve. The country can hold forums, seminars, and meetings with other countries online, this can be cheaper and faster than flying to the other country. This can also be done more frequently meaning they can solve more problems, with lesser effort.

So, transforming the Philippines into a first-world country through the use of the internet and information technology? It will be hard, but not impossible. With the help of the government and the cooperation of it's citizens, one can change it's country for the better.

I saw that you like Call of Duty 4 so I thought you might be interested in a Free Xbox 360 Video Game Contest that my organization is throwing. By the way, is there any games you're looking forward to that are about to come out?
